Our client is a distinctive and highly regarded organisation that is one of Australia's major Information Communication Technology investors and service providers. IT plays a pivotal role in how this business delivers its services. The Head of Infrastructure Services is a key leadership role, reporting directly to the CIO and managing a team of approximately 75. Key projects will include undertaking a total refresh of infrastructure aimed at driving a customer service culture for the team and enabling the organisation to better deliver its service to their client base. This role will deliver cutting edge technology to the stakeholders to improve service delivery across the organisation.
Key accountabilities include:
- Developing and delivering high-level IT advice and formal strategy on the entire range of infrastructure issues
- Acting as the leading IT technical manager in the organisation and representing the IT position in external forums and on the organisational leadership team
- Effectively managing the large corporate infrastructure including the operations of the Data Centres, the network (12,000 devices), and the Server fleet (with over 400 servers)
- Effectively managing and developing the investment in corporate infrastructure including the $40m install base of central equipment of the major annual infrastructure budget
- Preparing plans for the delivery of services and clearly identifying how services will be delivered from ITS. These include IT Infrastructure Capacity Plans, Infrastructure Consolidation Plans, IT Security Plans and Disaster Recovery Plans
- Developing and co-ordinating proposals to gain funding from available government source for ICT infrastructure initiatives
- Identifying and implementing opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Management, development, maintenance and action of the ICT Capacity Plan, Security Plan and Disaster Recovery Plan
The ideal candidate:
A strong leader and people manager with a broad base in IT gained from a large corporate, high user environment. An individual with strong technical credibility, a demonstrated track record in infrastructure who understands the cutting edge of latest technologies and web enablement. Able to interact with a wide range of stakeholders and market the infrastructure services offering whilst effectively managing priorities and expectations. You are a highly agile individual, a good communicator/presenter who is outcome focused and has change management skills.
